TEXAN SALSA
6 whole fresh tomatoes
1 small onion
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/3 cup TEXAN Red Pepper
Hot Sauce*
Preparation: cut tomatoes into quarters, cut onion into quarters and place in a food processor. chop the cilantro stalk & leaves and add to the food processor. Pour in the TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce and blend.
*Add TEXAN Red
Pepper Hot Sauce according to your taste.
Our Story
It was 2008 when two sisters joined together to share great TEXAN recipes for everyone to enjoy. For over 30 years the family business offered an excellent hot sauce for the Original Pittsburg Hot Link, TEXAN's Pittsburg Hot Link Original Hot Sauce, but it was always a family dream tomake the original hot sauce thicker without loosing the fresh flavor. In the process of working with the Original hot sauce, a new sauce was created with the help of their husbands and children. This sauce was a thicker hot sauce that made flavors pop. At first the hot sauce was given to employees, family and friends to get feedback. The results were overwhelming. This hot sauce was so versatile that it was clearly destined become a household staple. It became apparent that the dream of changing the Original sauce would not happen, but a new dream was on the horizon.... to make a quality, fresh hot sauce that had the potential to become as common as mustard, ketchup or even Ranch dressing.
In 2010, the TEXAN Red Pepper Sauce was perfected. The introduction of this new sauce was welcomed by guests of Pittsburg Hot Link Restaurants with a 100% positive review. It was apparent that there were "giants" in the Hot Sauce market and TEXAN was the little guy.
A co-packer was selected, a broker was obtained as well as a marketing team to help with branding TEXAN .... and the wheels were in motion.
In 2011 the first sample batch was done and TEXAN Products was in route to developing their team and realizing their dream. It became a mission to replace all the other hot sauce bottles in the refrigerator... because the TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce is "So Good, You'll Throw Rocks At The Rest".
In 2012, appointments were set and TEXAN Products entered the TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce and the Pittsburg Hot Link Original Hot Sauce for the ZESTFEST competition in Irving, TX.
The exhibition for the weekend is said to host over 12,000 patrons and presents a great opportunity to show a lot of people what these Hot Sauces have to offer.

the fiery food challenge began. The response from the guests we had try our hot sauce was 90% mmmmmmmmm.... that's good. The other 10% were wanting something extremely hot that could put someone in the hospital......... We are about taste not torture.
