TEXAN Hot Beans & Rice
1 Cup Pinto Beans
1 Cup Rice (White or Brown)
3 Tbsp Butter
1/4 Cup TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce*
1/2 lb Sliced Smoked Sausage
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
Clean and sort Pinto Beans add to 10 cups of water and bring to a boil, add Smoked Sausage, reduce heat and slow cook at medium temp for 2 hours. Add Rice, Butter and TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce and cook at medium heat for 30 minutes (for white rice) or 50 minutes (for brown rice) uncovered until rice is done.
*for a more mild taste use 1/8 cup of TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce.
For Best results, use a cast iron pot.
Delicious TEXAN SALSA
6 whole fresh tomatoes
1 small onion
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/3 cup TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce*
Preparation: cut tomatoes into quarters, cut onion into quarters and place in a food processor. chop the cilantro stalk & leaves and add to the food processor. Pour in the TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce and blend.
*Add TEXAN Red Pepper Hot Sauce according to your taste.
RED HEADED TEXAN
A delightful Tomato Drink with a little Kick
1/2 Cup Tomato Juice
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp Worstershire Sauce
a Pinch of Salt
3 Shakes of TEXAN Hot Sauce
1 oz Vodka (Optional)
Serve over ice.
